Helsinki... missing post

J'ai oublie l'episode Helsinki chez Elina... voici donc quelques photos rapidos... I forgot to tell about the three days in Helsinki at Elina's place... here are some pictures quickly... Apres une bonne nuit de sommeil, la fine equipe (Ivan, Saara, Luc et votre serviteur Manu) prend le ferry pour la forteresse de Helsinki. A l'origine, des resistants etaient deportes sur cette ile dans des conditions precaires. C'est ensuite devenu un poste de defense avance. After a good night of sleep, the dream team (Ivan, Saara, Luc and me Manu) take the ferry to visit the fortress of Helsinki. After having been a kind of prison where political opponents were left, it became a defensive post in the sea.

Visite de quelques eglises dont l'eglise orthodoxe perchee sur une colline. Helsinki fut en grande partie detruite par des bombardements pendant la deuxieme guerre mondiale mais cette cathedrale fut epargnee.

Visit of fex churches like the orthodoxe cathedral, up a hill. Helsinki has been mostly destroyed when bombed during world war 2, but this one hasn't been touched. Puis balade dans les rue de la capitale Finlandaise, visite du musee national. On a pu aussi visiter quelques pubs passant des bons vieux rocks de ACDC a Led Zep' au milieu de bien moins bons rocks, mais toujours avec de bons vieux portraits de Jimi Hendrix sur les murs. Vive la culture rock et metal du nord! On s'est aussi fait menace par une armee de mouettes, qui lorgnaient nos sandwich au petit matin (meme si en redescendant dans le sud j'ai redecouvert ce qu'etait la nuit noire, il fait quand meme jour bien tot le matin!) super aggressives les mouettes la-bas... certains diront que c'est le sucre des restes de McDo qui les ont rendu completement barrees... Then walk in the streets of the finnish capital, and visit of the national museum. We could also visit some pubs playing good old rock standards like ACDC or Led Zepplin among some other really less interesting songs, but still with some picture of Jimi Hendrix on the walls. We love the rock and metal culture of the north! We also got under attack by some nasty sea guls watching our sandwiches in the early morning (even if i re-discovered the dark night while driving down south, it's still bright pretty early in the morning in Helsinki). Some would say that the sugar of the rests of McDonald food drove them completely insane...
